Project Fourth Stream with special guest Hanah Jon Taylor October 14, 2006Viroqua, WI. Project Fourth Stream, pianist Bill Neil saxophonist Tom Gullion, returns to Viroqua with special guest artist, Hanah Jon Taylor. The concert, on Oct 14th, 2006, will take place at 7:30pm at The Move in Main Street Station, Viroqua, WI. Following a recent collaboration in Madison, Project Fourth Stream has invited Hanah Jon Taylor, whose intrepid style, liquid tone, and remarkable fluency on flute and saxophone carry him to some wild, exotic realms. Taylor recently received Jazz Personality of the Year at this year’s Isthmus Jazz Festival and continues to build a very successful career as a creative artist.
Both Neil and Gullion will premiere new pieces that have been composed especially for Taylor. “We are particularly interested in expanding the spontaneous sound and rhythmic spectrum of Hanah’s presence”, says Neil. “His approach to improvisation has its impetus in story telling and he has a unique way of driving the rhythmic pulse that reaches the very root of time,” Neil elaborates. Fourth Stream will also debut their use of digital acoustic equipment. “We are imagining, in poetic terms, an acoustical environment that will expand our boundaries into the realm of interactive Musique Concrete” explains Tom Gullion.
